395 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 59 multiple rocket launchers, 179 field artillery guns and mortars of the Ukrainian army were destroyed, the Russian Defense Ministry informed on March 1.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a special military operation in Donbass, the purpose of which is the demilitarization and denationalization of Ukraine.
The decision was made after the heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics appealed for help.
Earlier, on February 21, during an address to the nation, Putin announced the recognition of Donbass independence from Ukraine.
