LPR Foreign Ministry: LPR army steps up retaking Republic’s territory

26.02.2022, Lugansk.

The army of the Lugansk People’s Republic has stepped up its advance towards the state borders of the Republic, Foreign Minister of the LPR Vladislav Deynego said on February 26 on Channel One.

“Over the previous days, we retook only one town, Lopaskino. Today our advance has been much better,” Deynego said.

According to Deynego, the territory of the Republic is being retaken from the Ukrainian military “very painfully,” and the People’s Militia advances with “serious casualties.” However, he noted that the rate of advance depends not only on the pressure by the LPR army but also on the enemy’s resistance capability.

On February 26, the LPR authorities said that they had retaken the towns of Lopaskino, Trekhizbenka, Muratovo, Grechishkino, and Luganskaya.

On February 24, the armies of the Donetsk and the Lugansk people’s republics began an offensive in order to retake the territories temporarily occupied by the Ukrainian army. At the same time, President of Russia Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a special military operation of Russia on the territory of Ukraine.
