The US has repeatedly blocked the talks process on the settlement in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on February 25 on the air of Russian Channel One.
“Now regarding the fact that in Washington they are concerned or anxious about the talks processes. I don’t know why they are looking at these talks with anxiety, given that they are the exactly ones in Washington who are blocking these talks,” Zakharova said.
According to her, US representatives told Kiev not to go to direct talks with the Donbass republics. Also, the US interrupted Kiev’s talks with Moscow.
Earlier on February 25, Russian President spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia had taken note of the statements of Kiev’s representative about its readiness to talk to Moscow about Ukraine’s neutral status.
The Foreign Ministry noted that the possible organization of talks with Kiev in Minsk would not cancel the goal of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine.
