The unique characteristics of the special operation of the Russian army in Ukraine are based on its Syrian experience, Head of the Chair of Political and Social Science at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, expert of the Association of Military Political Scientists Andrey Koshkin said on February 24 in a comment to the Rossa Primavera News Agency.

“This special operation has some unique characteristics,” the military political scientist said. According to Koshkin, the kind of orders that Defense Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoigu makes are indicative.

“For Ukrainian army servicemen who do not want to fight and surrender, humanitarian corridors must be made. This is our Syrian experience where we learned this technology. It is only us who possesses it. And we use it here, we give them this option,” Koshkin commented.

The military political scientist described how the reconciliation process takes place. A serviceman of the Ukrainian army acknowledges in writing that he will not participate in hostilities again, and then he can go to his wife and children.

“German Nazi occupants only promised, but then they executed soldiers. Here, everything is fulfilled. Incidents of that kind do not take place,” the expert added.

On February 24, the Russian leader Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a special military operation to defend Donbass. The goal of the Russian army’s operation is demilitarization of Ukraine.
