The Cuban Foreign Ministry called Russia’s demands to the United States and NATO on security justified, as follows from a statement released on February 23.
It is reported that the Cuban leadership fully supports Russia’s demands to the United States and NATO regarding security in Europe. These demands are all the more justified since Washington is continuing NATO’s eastward expansion to Russia’s borders and the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
“For several weeks now, US authorities have been threatening Russia and manipulating the international community about the danger of an ‘imminent massive invasion’ of Ukraine. They have supplied weapons and military equipment, sent troops to several countries in the region, applied unilateral and unjust sanctions and <…> unleashed an anti-Russian propaganda campaign,” the Cuban Foreign Ministry noted.
It is stressed in the statement that in this regard, Cuban authorities consider all of Moscow’s demands for security guarantees to be justified. Cuba called on the United States and NATO to take realistically and seriously what the Russian leadership says.
