DPR: Kiev prepares scenario of provocations to accuse Russia of aggression

19.02.2022, Donetsk.

The Ukrainian leadership has prepared a series of provocations to accuse Russia of military aggression, Eduard Basurin, deputy head of the People’s Militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), said on the air of the Rossiya 24 TV channel on February 19.

“Six groups were created, whose instructors were specialists of the British army; in these groups, they prepared them [Ukrainian militants] to carry out these provocations,” Basurin said.

He added that those involved in the Ukrainian provocation changed into the uniforms of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and the DPR People’s Militia during the training. According to the plans of the Ukrainian authorities, the provocateurs should commit a terrorist attack with the use of chemical weapons.

Basurin added that according to the Ukrainian scenario, on the day after the attack, the Ukrainian authorities intended to show a “defector,” who was supposed to claim that the attack was carried out on behalf of the Russian leadership.

This was to be followed by another series of terrorist attacks deep inside the DPR and LPR, Basurin noted.

On February 18, Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups attempted to commit sabotage at the DPR infrastructure facilities. Two Ukrainian saboteurs were killed, and three were wounded in the clashes.

At the same time, there was a major explosion at a gas pipeline in Lugansk on the night of February 18-19. Also, the car of the head of the People’s Militia of the republic was blown up outside the government of the DPR.

LPR reconnaissance also reported that Ukrainian TV channels are preparing staged videos about the aggression of the DPR, LPR and Russia against Ukraine. The videos are being filmed as part of the Ukrainian disinformation campaign.
