Kurginyan assesses likelihood of nuclear war

A nuclear war can be started by a person with “a certain sinister heroism”, said philosopher, political scientist, the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan in his article Cold War 2.0 in the Essence of Time newspaper.

Kurginyan said that during his conversations with high-ranking officials from the United States, China, the United Kingdom, India, Iran, and Israel he sought each time to answer a question similar to the question of writer Isaac Babel about his own hero – loader at the port Mendel Krik. Babel asks himself what his character is thinking about and replies: “All he thinks about is downing a nice shot of vodka, slugging someone in their ugly mug, and about his horses-nothing else.”

“While the very idea of such a war is deeply repugnant to me, I couldn’t help but understand that in order to start a nuclear war, you have to think about something other than what Mendel Krik was thinking about. And such a step beyond the quasi-Krik’s mental matrix requires a certain heroism – very sinister and destructive, but precisely heroism,” the philosopher believes.

Kurginyan stressed that none of the national elites of the world, with whom he had to talk, is not able, in his opinion, to start a nuclear war.

“It [a nuclear war] can, I repeat, begin due to the intersection of several straight lines at one point, which, in principle, can intersect like that with a probability close to zero,” the leader of Essence of Time added.

Earlier, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said that the US military in Europe will not fight against Russia. At the same time, he noted that an invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine can occur at any time.
