If Turkey joins the war against Russia, the statistics of Russian-Turkish wars will be updated in favor of Russia, military expert and editor of the Arsenal of the Fatherland journal Aleksey Leonkov said to a Rossa Primavera News Agency’s correspondent on November 18.
“Whether Turkey will participate in the war against Donbass is an open question. But if Turkey goes to war against our country again, the statistics of Russian-Turkish wars will be updated in favor of Russia once again,” Leonkov said.
According to him, we should pay attention to how the Turkish side fights against the Kurds, because sometimes the Turkish military is hit very hard by the Kurds. “This experience may be needed,” he added.
“The question is how ready the side against which the Turks will train Ukrainian soldiers is. If we talk about the defenders of Donbass, the people there are trained and motivated. They have something to lose, and they know what they need,” said the military expert.
In his opinion, military cooperation between Turkey and Ukraine is unlikely to bring any dividends, because the people of Donbass quickly learned to fight against the Ukrainian army, and therefore will learn to fight against any other army that will try to take away people’s freedom.
On November 18, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine ratified an agreement with Turkey on military cooperation, which was signed on October 16, 2020, during the official visit of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to Turkey.
The cooperation of the countries will, in particular, include military training, mutual participation in training and joint exercises, defense industry, exchange of military classified information.
