The capital of Afghanistan has become the place where now history is being made, the Head of the Information Policy Commission of the Russian Federation Council Aleksey Pushkov assessed of the current events in his Telegram channel on August 15.
Earlier, amid the fleeing of the United States from Afghanistan, militants of the radical Taliban movement (an organization banned in Russia) entered Kabul, as a result of which President Aşraf Ğanī left his post, and power in the country was transferred to a transitional government, which includes Islamist fighters.
In this regard, Pushkov drew attention to the fact that the processes taking place in Afghanistan showed the falseness of the End of history theories.
“History is now being made not in Washington, Brussels, London or Paris, the recently recognized centers of the historical process,” the senator pointed out.
“History is now being made in Kabul,” he stressed.
In addition, Pushkov said the US failure in Afghanistan could indicate the beginning of the US sunset era.
