Expert: Accusations in MH17 trial are based on images that do not exist

10.06.2021, Moscow.

All the accusations of downing MH17 flight against people’s militia in Donbass have been based on US images, which do not exist, a military expert and editor of the Arsenal of the Fatherland Aleksey Leonkov said to Rossa Primavera News Agency’s reporter on June 10.

The expert recalled that all accusations of the people’s militia in Donbass and Russia regarding the crash of flight MH17 were based on statements by the United States that it had some evidence, namely satellite images.

However, the USA has refused to provide these images to the court, even for a closed-door hearing. “This is a refusal to one of the NATO allies,” Leonkov stressed. He noted that the USA’s refusal violates NATO provisions on intelligence sharing. “This suggests that most likely these images do not exist,” the expert concluded.

Leonkov recalled that Malaysia also requested these images and was denied.

He stressed that Russia provided the most objective information about the MH17 flight. “All accusations against Russia were based on this important evidence reported by the USA. And it is not available,” Leonkov noted. Since Washington refuses to provide this evidence, all accusations against Russia and the people’s militia in Donbass are fabricated, the expert said.

On June 7, another court hearings were held in the Netherlands in the case of the crash of MH17 flight.

During the hearings, the court said that the US finally refused to provide satellite images of the crash area. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Washington was withholding evidence of great importance.
