The Russian elite has not gone sufficiently mad to agree to a “contract” with the US for a conflict with China, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on May 27 on the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov program on the Russia One channel.
According to Kurginyan, the US President Joe Biden can offer these conditions for improving relations with Russia at the coming summit with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
“Our elites are not insane enough to sign a contract for a conflict with China in the current situation. They would have to go absolutely mad to do so,” the political scientist believes.
Also, the expert reminded the recent statements by Russian President Vladimir Putin and the PRC leaders about close relations between the two countries, which they are absolutely unwilling to give up.
The leader of Essence of Time also noted that Russia and the USA have no other common ground. The proposal to the join effort against terrorism or Islamism is no longer on the US agenda. “Therefore, this is either an empty conversation or a conversation about China,” Kurginyan said.
On May 25, the PRC Foreign Ministry Spokesman Zhao Lijian said at a press conference that partnership with Russia has grown “as solid as a rock.”
