Kurginyan: Poland wants to seize part of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline from Russia

30.05.2021, Moscow.

Poland intends to “steal” the rights to the Polish section of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline from Russia, political scientist and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on May 27 on the Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov program on the Russia One TV channel.

According to Kurginyan, the Polish authorities are seeking to seize Gazprom’s share in the Polish section of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline under the pretext of sanctions against Belarus.

The leader of the Essence of Time movement believes that they want to find a way to remove this section from the common property in order to privatize it completely.

Kurginyan added that NATO has been amassing its forces in Norway for these purposes using the Belarus case and the anti-Russian agenda in the Arctic and the Baltic States as a pretext.

“Norway has in fact completely turned into a US colony. The American military can do anything in Norway,” the political scientist stressed.

In this context, Kurginyan pointed out the audacity with which Poland is organizing provocations in the construction zone of the Nord Stream – 2 gas pipeline and seeking to take possession of the Yamal-Europe.

“They want to extend their pipelines and liquefied gas terminals from Norway, which is under protection, and to block access for Russian gas at any cost,” the expert explained.

Gazprom is currently the largest gas supplier to Poland. Deliveries are made through the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline, which runs from Russia through Belarus and Poland to Germany.

However, the Polish state-owned company Gaz-System has previously announced a plan to develop the country’s gas transportation system for the next 10 years, according to which Poland should fully take over Gazprom’s share (48%) in the joint venture EuRoPol Gaz, the owner of this section of the pipeline.
