The Ukrainian military shelled areas of four villages in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) over the past 24 hours, the DPR representative to the Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCCC) reported on its official website on May 23.
In violation of the Minsk agreements and ceasefire agreements, the enemy opened fire on the DPR territory using 120mm mortars, grenade launchers, and large-caliber machine guns. The Ukrainian side violated the ceasefire six times. Gorlovka (Gagarin Mine village), Donetsk city (Volvo Center), Novaya Maryevka and Leninskoye camed under fire.
“The Ukrainian side at the JCCCC ignored all attempts of the DPR representative at the JCCCC to establish the ceasefire using a coordination mechanism. All our appeals received the same answer: we do not confirm the violation of ceasefire, we observe the ceasefire,” the report reads.
Between 3.00 a.m. of May 22 to 3.00 a.m. of May 23, the Ukrainian units fire a total of 50 rounds of ammunition. No civilian casualties or damage to civilian infrastructure were reported.
During the previous day, the Ukrainian military units violated the ceasefire five times by firing 57 rounds of ammunition. Donetsk (Volvo Center), Zhabunki, Novolaspa, Kominternovo came under fire.
