The Russian Foreign Ministry’s Office in Simferopol advised US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to refrain from assessing the actions of Russian authorities in Crimea and focus on US problems by posting a corresponding statement on its Twitter account on May 19.
Mr Blinken “we shall manage on our own, in joy and in sorrow. Focus on US problems. For starters, tell us about the achievements of 19 year-long American presence in Afghanistan. Besides, civilian casualties… And if history is a concern, apologize for Hiroshima?” the message reads.
This text was the Russian side’s reaction to the tweet published by Blinken about alleged abuses of power by the Russian authorities in Crimea.
On 18 May, US State Department chief Anthony Blinken posted a message on Twitter in which he drew a parallel between Russia’s current policy in Crimea and “Stalin’s deportation of countless Crimean Tatars from their native peninsula.”
