Russia will not allow to be led by the West and will not trade off its real positions in Donbass for “easing tensions” in relations, political scientist and leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on April 22 on the Topic program on the Donetsk Union TV channel.
Kurginyan noted that the West is using a technique known as the “anaconda strategy” or “English bulldog tactics” against Russia, which will not lead to any real “rapprochement.”
“Conquest by means of such cycles of rising tension, relaxations, and new tension… Anglo-Saxon diplomacy, which now dominates the West, clearly uses this [strategy],” the political scientist said.
According to Kurginyan, several cycles of such build-up and relaxation of tensions can lead to a country’s extreme weakening, and Russia understands this.
“I doubt that now, judging by the sentiments, that Russia will just sit back and watch as offers to ruin its position come its way and calmly agree to this to buy a pause,” the leader of the Essence of Time movement concluded.
