Leading Western think tanks are demanding to make every effort ensuring that Ukraine defeats Russia in a war, political analyst, leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on April 22 on the Topic program on the Donetsk Union TV channel.
As an example, Kurginyan cited a report by James Sherr, former Head of the Russia and Eurasia Programme of British think tank Chatham House (Royal Institute of International Affairs).
“Chatham House is a very serious organization… It makes a simple statement: ‘Ukraine must win the war with Russia. The West must make every effort to help it’,” the political scientist reported.
Kurginyan noted that British analysts demanded devastating sanctions against Russia, aggravation of the domestic situation on the eve of the State Duma elections in Russia, and accepting Ukraine into NATO.
“All the current leaders of the US and British armed forces are continuously repeating that it’s time to amass [NATO] forces on the borders with Russia,” Kurginyan said.
“As they used to say, ‘The clouds are over the city, a storm is gathering’ [quotation from the Soviet song from World War II],” Kurginyan concluded.
Rossa Primavera News Agency earlier reported on an interview with James Sherr, former Head of the Russia and Eurasia Programme at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House).
James Sherr said that he believes that Ukraine’s main function is to wage war against Russia. Therefore, Ukraine’s accession to the European Union or NATO is not an urgent task until Ukraine wins the war against Russia.
