Former Secretary of State John Kerry, to whom the new US President Joe Biden listens, has become an unexpected “glitch” in the US conflict with Russia, political analyst and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan, said on April 22 in the Tema program on the Donetsk Union TV channel.
“The US, in general, is getting more and more tense towards Russia, but there is one glitch there, an unexpected comma – Biden starts listening to Kerry more and more. And Kerry is a peculiar figure,” the political scientist said.
Sergey Kurginyan explained that in the past, Kerry helped to ease the conflict between Iran and the United States. But if Kerry worked with Iran for a reason, it means that other countries may have interacted with Kerry for their reasons as well.
“Kerry suddenly became such a figure of reconciliation: ‘Look, let’s not push here, let’s take it easy there, let’s calm down here, let’s shift here,’” the expert described the former US Secretary of State’s logic.
According to Kurginyan, Biden listens carefully to Kerry. But this behavior of the newly elected US president makes the elite of the Democratic Party angry, because the opportunity to quickly get rid of Russia is “stalling.”
“If only it turns out that America is starting to slow down, then let it slow down. We can make use of it… The question is that America cannot slow down, it does not have such a possibility, and policy is not determined by Biden alone,” explained the leader of the Essence of Time movement.
The political analyst gave a 10-15% chance that Kerry could provide a pause before a serious aggravation of relations between the West and Russia. In that case, Russia will have a few more months to “finish up some military and technical programs.”
