Head of the DPR promises to protect Russian-speaking citizens of Ukraine

22.04.2021, Donetsk.

The authorities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR) will continue to protect the rights and interests of the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine, no matter how much official Kiev infringes on their rights, the DPR head Denis Pushilin said to reporters at the Unity of the Russians: Protection of Rights and Freedoms international forum in Donetsk on April 22.

Pushilin assured that the Russian-speaking residents will not be left without the support of the Donbass:

“In 2014, Donbass built the first line of defense. But not only on the line of contact. Donbass is defending its land, homes, families, and the entire Russian world from Ukrainian aggression. I want to firmly state: we are determined to defend the rights and interests of Russians living in the remaining part of Ukraine.”

Pushilin added that official Kiev is now doing everything to twist and falsify Russian history and erase the memory of everything Russian. In particular, “every person’s natural desire to preserve their national roots” is “declared a crime” in Ukraine, and the Russian-speaking population “is deprived of the rights to practice certain positions,” as well as to receive education in the Russian language.

The Unity of the Russians: Protection of Rights and Freedoms international forum began in Donetsk on April 22 and will continue until tomorrow. Such burning topics as discrimination against the Russian-speaking population of Ukraine and the glorification of Nazism by the authorities in Kiev will be discussed the event discusses.
