LPR: Ukrainian sappers mine town outskirts in Donbass

The Ukrainian military continues to mine the outskirts of Popasnaya town under Kiev’s control located on the contact line in Donbass, representative of the press service of the People’s Militia of the Lugansk People’s Republic Ivan Filiponenko said to reporters on March 30.

Earlier, the press service informed that the Ukrainian side placed about 100 mines in this area.

“We have information about the Ukrainian sappers being active in the eastern outskirts of Popasnaya town, where previously 100 TM-62 anti-tank mines were placed at the exit of the village,” Filiponenko said.

Noting that the Joint Forces Command continues to work on creating mine fields near populated areas and roads, the spokesman urged residents of the areas under Kiev’s control to be extremely cautious to not became a victim of the Ukrainian mines.

“We ask that all facts of mines placed by the Ukrainian army’s units be reported to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM), the prosecutor’s office and the civil-military administration to rule out accidents,” Filiponenko said.
