Kurginyan: An anti-Russian front is being formed at Russia’s East

03.03.2021, Moscow.

Political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan, speaking on the Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov program on the Russia One channel, commented the statement of the Japanese authorities that they need Aleksey Navalny to resolve the Kuril Islands territorial issue.

According to the political scientist, hostile activity along Russia’s entire perimeter is escalating. On the west it is NATO, Ukraine, and Poland, on the south it is Turkey with its ambitions regarding the Great Turan, and on the north it is presence of the US and NATO military.

“The Japanese were instigated to say that they need Navalny to resolve the Kuril Islands issue. The Japanese never said ‘We need Chernomyrdin or Nemtsov to get the Kurils back,’” Kurginyan said.

According to the analyst, this sounds as if the Emperor of Japan would say after the defeat of the Kwantung Army that they needed Lavrentiy Beria instead of Joseph Stalin as the leader of the USSR for their talks to be successful.

The expert stressed that the call for Navalny “as tsar” is so absurd that this precedent can entail a chain of similar demands to Russia by other states. “Australia will be next to demand something, then New Zealand will follow. And they all need Navalny. The kangaroos will benefit or the environment will improve if Navalny comes,” Kurginyan ironically suggested.

The leader of Essence of Time indicated that this is the first time the Japanese authorities use this sort of rhetoric, although the Kuril Islands issue is very sensitive for Japan. The Japanese authorities never went as far as to say “change your national leader.”

“Thus, the eastern flank is being activated. We warned a long time ago that Japan is increasingly developing certain strange ties with Turkey, which are not only economical, but also military,” Kurginyan concluded.
