Looming disagreements inside the Democratic Party and among supporters of new US President Joseph Biden will temporarily distract the Democrats’ attention from foreign policy, political scientist, analyst and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on January 21 in an interview to the Donetsk Union Radio.
The expert noted that Biden will not play a very active role in governing the US due to his age, health status, and moderate political stance.
“In this case, Kamala Harris and the people from Obama’s team who stand behind her will play this role. It will mean some sort of conflict between the Biden team—moderate and democratic to some degree — and the more radical Harris-Obama team,” said Kurginyan.
These circumstances will provoke conflicts inside the Democratic Party, which has won the elections. Apart of fighting inside the party, the Democrats will have to weaken the Republican Party in order to secure their victory in the next presidential elections.
“All this can temporarily distract the US attention from foreign to domestic problems. And now the question is not about changing the country’s industrial status, but managing relations between different groups that can clash with each other in radical forms. If Washington is busy with stabilizing the situation at home for some time, its attention will probably be distracted from the foreign policy issues that the Democrats love so much,” explained the political scientist.
Kurginyan also noted that some time later the US attention will be focused on the foreign policy agenda. It is to be noted that the Democratic Party secured victory for its presidential candidate by gross and obvious violations. According to the political scientist, this zeal must conceal some unknown aims that the so called “deep state” has set while making Biden president.
“The groups, which brought Biden to power, are seeking to change America radically in the coming four years in order to make the return of Trump and ‘Trumpism’ impossible. This scenario means that in about a year and a half we may see an absolutely new America, more aggressive than ever,” stressed Kurginyan.
