Ceasefire violated in Syria 23 times over the day

Russia reported 23 violations of the ceasefire in Syria over 24 hours, according to the information bulletin published on the website of the Russian Defense Ministry on January 8.

Russia confirmed the ceasefire violations in Idlib (11 violations), Aleppo (1 violation), Latakia (10 violations), and Hama (1 violation) provinces.

The Turkish side reported 13 ceasefire violations in the past 24 hours. The Russian side confirmed none of them.

Over the past 24 hours, the Russian Centre for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in the Syrian Arab Republic carried out two humanitarian actions. 500 food kits were distributed in Jubb Gabsha town in Aleppo province and in Hsham town in Deir ez-Zor province.

The ceasefire on the territory of Idlib de-escalation zone has been in force since March 6, 2020. The agreement is guaranteed by Russia and Turkey, which established the joint Russian-Turkish commission for ceasefire monitoring in Syria.
