Ukrainian military resumes shelling of DPR

The Ukrainian army’s units violated the ceasefire on the contact line of in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) three times over the day, a DPR representative at the Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCCC) said on November 26.

The representative said that on November 25, observers registered shelling of Spartak village in the Donetsk outskirts. The Ukrainian military of the 56th Brigade of the Ukrainian army fired 12 AGS-17 grenades from the stronghold near Opytnoye villages, small arms were also used.

On Mariupol direction, soldiers of the 36th Marine Brigade opened fire from their positions near Vodyanoye village. The military fired eight 82 mm mortar shells and six AGS-17 grenades.

It was stressed in the message that there were no casualties among the republic’s residents or People’s Militia servicemen. The Ukrainian military failed to damage residential buildings and infrastructure in the villages.

The observers also noted that the Ukrainian military continued to build new fortifications deep in the “gray zone” using the observation of ceasefire by people’s militia units: the military of the 56th Brigade of the Ukrainian army was seen during the construction works near Peski village.

On November 24, the JCCCC observers registered two violations of the ceasefire two shelling on the DPR territory near Gorlovka and on the Mariupol direction. The Ukrainian army’s military ACU used RPG-7 and AGS-17 grenade launchers.
