19.11.2020, Kiev.

The Ukrainian Coast Guard on the Azov Sea’s coast will receive US assistance in the amount of $4 million, the US Embassy in Kiev press service wrote on November 19 on Twitter page.

The message reads that the USA through its Export Control and Related Border Security Program will provide $4 million worth of military material assistance to strengthen coast guard units in Mariupol and Berdyansk on the Azov Sea’s coast.

“Facilities and equipment will give the Maritime Guard 24-hour ability to deter and respond to aggression on the Sea of Azov,” the message reads.

The message was illustrated with photos of patrol boats without explanation, probably purchased in the USA in 2019.

On July 31, 2020, the USA through the Ministry of Defense proposed to provide assistance to Ukraine of $ 300 million to purchase weapons and equipment on an annual basis and an additional $4 million for training the military.
