05.11.2020, Donetsk.

The Ukrainian military opened fire on a bus with a shift of the Donetsk water filtration plant (DWFP) in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) on the way to the plant, a DPR representative at the Joint Centre for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCCC) said.

The spokesman said that at 2.47 p.m. (Moscow time zone), the JCCCC observers registered that the fire was opened from the Ukrainian Army’s combat positions near Avdeevka in Kashtanovoye village. The Ukrainian troops opened fire on a bus with a DWFP shift on the H-20 road.

The representative stressed that luckily none of the workers was injured.

“The DPR representative office at the JCCCC requested additional security guarantees from the Ukrainian side to establish a stable ceasefire, which made it possible to prevent further ceasefire violations and safely accomplish the rotation of shifts at the most important water supply object of civilian infrastructure,” the message reads.

The representative of the republic specified that the patrol of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, which was in the village of Yasinovataya, registered the ceasefire violation by the Ukrainian army.

The representative of the Donetsk People’s Militia said that the servicemen of the 2nd Battalion from 54th Ukrainian army’s Brigade opened fire. The military fired in three bursts of machine gun fire at the bus that picked up the shift from the station.

The Ukrainian military often violate the ceasefire since the end of the election campaign in Ukraine. Six and four violations of the ceasefire were registered on November 4 and 5. The Ukrainian military has been using small arms, grenade launchers and mortars.
