Plants for manufacturing drones destroyed in Idlib

02.10.2020, Damascus.

Russian and Syrian Air Forces destroyed plants for manufacturing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in Idlib, a Rossa Primavera News Agency’s source informed on October 2.

“Combat aircraft destroyed the terrorist headquarters and factories for manufacturing drones in Idlib province,” the source said. According to the source, each plant produced about 10 UAVs per day.

The militants’ factories were destroyed as a result of a joint operation conducted by Russian and Syrian Arab Republic (SAR) Air Force pilots. It is not specified which Islamist group owned the destroyed factories.

The militants use hand-made drones to attack against Russia’s Khmeimim airbase in Latakia. The air defense system of the base shoot down such UAVs long before they can reach the target range.
