The Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire on Armenian territory using artillery and an unmanned aerial vehicle resulting in one person killed and two people injured. Armenian Defense Ministry spokesman Shushan Stepanyan wrote this on his Facebook page on October 1.

“The enemy opened artillery fire on Shatvan village of Gegharkunik region of Armenia, and a drone fired a missile at Mets Masrik village, killing a 53-years old man and injuring two civilians,” the Defense Ministry spokeswoman wrote.

She noted that the air defense forces destroyed three unmanned aerial vehicles of the Azerbaijani armed forces, including the one that fired a missile on the village of Mets Masrik.

On September 27, clashes erupted on the border of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan. Armenian Defense Ministry informed about shelling conducted by Azerbaijan, and a few hours later Azerbaijan announced the beginning of “counteroffensive” operation along the whole front line.
