Kurginyan: The West hates those who can compete with it over History

The West directs its hatred against countries that can compete with it in determining the historic path for the humanity, political scientist and the leader of the Essence of Time movement Sergey Kurginyan said on September 20 on the air of the Evening with Vladimir Solovyov program on the Russia One channel.

“The West, Rome, has always hated those who can challenge it in terms of enlightenment and civilization. It never hated barbarians to such an extent,” the political scientist said.

Kurginyan stressed that the collective West, as the descendant of Rome, “has hated the eastern competitor that split from it. It has always hated those who proposed an alternative version of history.”

Besides, archaic societies as well as ones that deny progressive historical social evolution find no rejection from the West, the political scientist believes.

“I will say something frightening: a certain Chinese cyclicity or a certain of archaicism or fundamentalism in certain territories scare the West less than a competition over history,” he added.

“And as the West today rejects history and is transforming into a post-historic space, it hates the most those who continue to defend historicity as such,” Kurginyan warned.

“In this sense, the point is not that we are not developing, but that are able to propose an alternative path of development,” Sergey Kurginyan wonders.

He believes that Russia is one of the few countries that can have their own vision for a historical path.

“We cannot escape the messianic version of our existence granted to us by higher forces, history, or whatever else. When we lose this version, when we adapt ourselves to anyone, and when we fail to propose our own strategy, we lose out right to exist. And this is the main lesson to be learned from the Belarusian events,” Sergey Kurginyan concluded.
