Expert comments on the statements about Ukraine's military readiness for war with Russia

06.07.2020, Moscow.

The Ukrainian Army is unable to conduct full-scale combat operations against Russia, former Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Air Force, Lieutenant General Aitech Bizhev said, on July 6 RBK informs.

According to the Russian Lieutenant General, the statements made by the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Navy, Aleksey Neizhpapa, are purely populist in nature. The Russian military has reminded that the war is a complex process that affects not only military but also civil sphere of the country and that the commander of one kind of troops cannot assess the combat readiness of the whole country.

In the opinion of the Russian military, even considering the naval forces of Ukraine only, one can see that not a single new ship has been built in the country since the independence of Ukraine was proclaimed, and the state of those ships being in service is highly questionable.

On 6 July, the Commander of the Ukrainian Navy Aleksey Neizhpapa said that the country was preparing for a full-scale armed confrontation with Russia. According to Neizhpapa, Russia is preparing to invade Kherson Region in order to let water flow through the North Crimean channel.
