The Ukrainian army used large-caliber artillery to shell Gorlovka, Donetsk Republic, the Republic’s representative mission to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) reported on July 6.
According to the report, the units of the Ukrainian army used 152 mm and 122 mm artillery against residential areas of Gorlovka. The Ukrainian punitive forces fired 16 152 mm shells, 33 122 mm shells, 17 120 mm mortar shells, and 34 82 mm mortar shells.
The shelling began at 2:45 in the morning from the Ukrainian army positions near the Novgorodskoye village, targeting the Komsomolets settlement. 15 122 mm shells were fired. At 03:05 the Ukrainian punitive forces fired 16 152 mm howitzer shells against the Komsomolets community in Gorlovka from the village of Dyleevka.
At 05:15 the Ukrainian army shelled the Shirokaya Balka community and the Gagarin mine in Gorlovka from two directions at a time: from the village of Novgorodskoye and from Dzerzhinsk, firing 34 82 mm mortar shells.
At 05:20 from positions near the village of Zhovanka the village of Zaytsevo was shelled with a 120 mm mortar, which fired 17 shells. At 06:30 the Ukrainian military repeated the shelling of the Komsomolets community in Gorlovka firing 18 122 mm howitzer shells.
The people in Gorlovka spent all the night in their cellars. The war criminals deliberately targeted the sustainment infrastructure, and they destroyed seven transformation substations near the Komsomolets mine, leaving 600 households without power supply.
The Ukrainian military damaged the building of the pumping station of the Water of Donbass utility company. A water main line was damaged in the Komsomolets community of Gorlovka leaving 3,000 households without water supply.
According to the press service of the DPR People’s Militia, the return fire against the 35th Brigade destroyed an Ural truck, which was used to transport shells. One soldier was killed and two wounded.
On July 5, 2020, JCCC monitors reported 5 cases of ceasefire violation by the Ukrainian military. The shelling damaged 3 villages in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The Ukrainian army shelled 40 various munitions.
