Syrian pilots fly their sorties with Russian-made MiG-29

Pilots of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) used upgraded MiG-29 fighters delivered from Russia in combat on June 5, a Rossa Primavera News Agency’s source informs

“Syrian pilots began to perform combat missions on the upgraded MiG-29, which Russia recently handed over to the SAA,” said the source. He did not specify what tasks the Syrian pilots performed.

Russia handed over two batches of Mig-29 to the Syrian Air Force. The handover ceremony was held at Khmeimim airfield in Latakia.

The Mig-29 is a fourth-generation multipurpose fighter. The Russian Air Force actively used its modification Mig-29 SMT in the Syrian conflict. In particular, these aircraft destroyed the infrastructure of the militants.
