US Representative to the UN Kelly Craft demanded Russia to stop immediately flights of its warplanes in Syria on February 28 during the UN Security Council meeting, the UN site reports.
Craft stressed that the USA supports Turkey in its response to attacks against its soldiers, which resulted in many dead among them.
“We call for the Russian Federation to immediately ground its warplanes. And we call for all Syrian forces and their Russian backers to withdraw to the ceasefire lines first established in 2018”, said Kelly Craft.
The UN Security Council meeting was held upon the request of the UK Representative due to concern over the escalated situation in Syrian Idlib.
Syrian Representative to the UN Bashar Ja’afari pointed out that the meeting was aimed to discredit all the previously reached agreements and to nullify results of the Astana talks.
