Kiev prepares new armed provocation to disrupt Donbass ceasefire

17.06.2019, Donetsk.

Ukrainian military leadership is preparing an armed provocation to disrupt the new talks in Minsk, said Deputy Head of the People’s Militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic Eduard Basurin, the Donetsk News Agency reported on June 16.

According to Basurin, sources inside the Ukrainian army report that a provocation is being prepared in order to disrupt the Minsk talks scheduled for June 19. The provocation is to imitate massive shelling of the 93-rd separate mechanized brigade located in the village of Avdeevka from DPR positions. Strikes are planned on both Ukrainian Army positions and civil infrastructure.

Before beginning the provocation, the brigade’s personnel and equipment will be moved out of the shelling zone. The Ukrainian media are actively involved in covering the provocation. For this purpose, they are looking for the most suitable locations for filming massive shelling of the 93rd separate mechanized brigade positions, supposedly by the DPR.

The spring ceasefire in Donbass formally began on March 8, 2019, but it has been repeatedly violated by the Ukrainian Army. A new ceasefire agreement is planned to be signed in Minsk on June 19.
