The ceasefire between Donetsk and Ukraine has been violated 120 times by the Ukrainian army since 24 May, Deputy Chief of the DPR People’s Militia Eduard Basurin said on June 2 to journalists.
Overall, the Ukrainian army fired off approximately 460 mortars and shells. Among them, it used 100 shells of 122-mm caliber and 361 mortars, including those of 120-mm caliber.
According to the DPR army’s representatives, the actual state of the conflict between Donbass and Ukraine can be characterized as “neither peace, nor war”. On the one hand, no large-scale defensive and offensive operations have been reported, but, on another hand, there are still shelling, diversions, shooting and etc.
122-mm shells are used in self-propelled howitzers as well as in the multiple launch rocket system “Grad” designed to destroy enemy’s troops.
