Germans believe Poroshenko must face international tribunal for Donbass

29.04.2019, Berlin.

The President of Ukraine Pyotr Poroshenko must face an international tribunal, member of the Berlin City Parliament Gunnar Lindemann said in an interview to Komsomolskaya Pravda on April 28.

According to Lindemann, Poroshenko is a war criminal, and a “sufficient amount of materials on Poroshenko’s war crimes is already available.” These materials, according to the German MP, are collected by the justice authorities of the Donbass republics, the LPR and the DPR.

In particular, Lindemann explains, 15 thousand people have been killed over the 5 years that the Donbass conflict has lasted, with 90% of all the artillery shells being fired by the Ukrainian army. If Poroshenko refuses to appear before a tribunal, the MP believes he must be threatened with a freeze of his foreign assets, both his personal ones and those of his team.

Five years after he came to power in 2014, Pyotr Poroshenko suffered a devastating defeat in the Ukrainian presidential elections. Over this period, the Donbass conflict has been ongoing, and the Ukrainian army has been shelling homes of civilians in Donetsk and Lugansk.
