Russian Ministry of Defense: 12 ceasefire violations in Syria over past 24 hours

The Russian and Turkish Ceasefire Commission on Syria reported twelve violations during January 1, according to a Russian Ministry of Defense information bulletin posted on its official website on January 2.

Specifically, the Russian side reported one incident of shooting in the province of Idlib, and another in the province of Latakia. Turkish officials reported two violations in the province of Idlib, seven in the province of Hama, and one in the province of Aleppo.

The Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides and Refugee Migration Monitoring did not perform any humanitarian actions over the 24 hours; the number of towns and villages that observed the ceasefire also remained unchanged at 2,518.

On December 31, an incident of artillery shelling, an armed clash, and a vehicle explosion was reported in Aleppo.
