Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko could share the same fate as his predecessor, Viktor Yanukovich, the Speaker of the Crimean Parliament Vladimir Konstantinov said, RIA Novosti reported on November 28.
According to Konstantinov, the coming election will become the Ukrainian president’s political and personal disaster.
“This is why he is trying to avoid this disaster in any possible way,” the Crimean speaker stressed.
The parliament member also noted that Ukraine “smells like the Maidan.” According to Konstantinov, when it becomes a matter of life and death, “Poroshenko will leave the country like Yanukovich did.”
Viktor Yanukovich, who was elected President of Ukraine in 2010, was removed from presidency by decree of the Verkhovna Rada (the Ukrainian Parliament) of February 22, 2014, after a coup d’etat. The following day, Viktor Yanukovich and his family members escaped to Russian territory.
