02.09.2018, Donetsk.

At the Contact Group talks on September 2, the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin called the assassination of the DRP Leader Aleksandr Zakharchenko an act of aggression, aimed at the disrupting Minsk agreements, Interfax reported.

This terrorist act is a blatant provocation against the Minsk agreements, aimed at their disruption. This jeopardizes everything. For a very long period, Ukraine has been sabotaging the process; it has been playing for time. But this is one situation. It is entirely different when they openly decide to commit acts of aggression,” – Puschilin said.

Aleksandr Zakharchenko was killed on August 31 as a result of an explosion near the café “Separ” in the center of Donetsk. In total, 11 people were wounded and killed in the explosion.

According to DPR administration reports, law enforcement officers detained several people on suspicion of organizing the assassination attempt on the head of the Republic. “Several people were detained, Ukrainian saboteurs and related persons who are suspected of participating in the assassination attempt on the head of the Republic,” – Interfax reports citing a source in the Donetsk power structures.
