Ukrainian children taught to get used to atrocities

05.06.2018, Kiev.

Ukrainian special operations soldiers imitated violent bloodshed at a performance for children in Energodar, Ukrainian Independent Information News Agency reported on June 4.

At a theatrical performance on Children’s Day, the Ukrainian army special forces demonstrated hand-to-hand combat skills before young residents of the town Energodar, Zaporozhskaya region. In the final fight, a soldier imitated cutting the enemy’s throat, and a red fountain simulating blood sprang up.

Militarist and nationalist performances for children are becoming increasingly widespread in Ukraine. In 2017, reports came out about neo-Nazis performing ideological indoctrination of adolescents in the Azovets network of paramilitary children’s summer camps to promote pro-Bandera attitudes among them. One of the largest organizations of this kind in Ukraine has been the Plast scout organization, which has raised several generations of fascist militants, from Bandera and Shukhevich to the today’s punitive forces of the so-called Anti-Terrorist Operation. Today, the organization has about 10 thousand members.
