“We are not afraid of radicals”. Russian Center of Culture to continue work in Kiev

The Russian Center of Science and Culture (Rossotrudnichestvo representative office) will continue the work in Kiev despite the radicals’ threats, head of the center Konstantin Vorobyov stated, TASS reports on January 16.

According to Vorobyov, Russia should not surrender the attempts to get establish contacts with Ukraine in the realms of science and culture, which is why the Russian Center of Science and Culture intends to continue the work in the Ukrainian capital, even with a certain risk.

“We are not afraid of radicals,”  Vorobyov said.

He noted that the Russian Center of Science and Culture has sent a protest note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in view of the attack of radicals while the Ukrainian authorities allocated additional protection to the center in case of future provocations. At the night of January 7, The Ukrainian radicals of the Black Committee group splashed the entrance of the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Kiev with red paint and left inscriptions and leaflets with extremist content. Later on January 13, the vandals repeated the aggression having blocked the entrance by chains and left inscriptions with threats.
