Lugansk People's Republic: Ukrainian military open fire with large-caliber guns

Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian army fired nine times at the territory controlled by the People’s Militia of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR). Gunfire was conducted with the use of large-caliber artillery, the Republican Defense Ministry informed on October 26, Lugansk Information Center reports.

Suburbs of the city of Pervomaisk, and the localities Kalinovo, Frunze, Zhelobok, Lozovoye, and Kalinovka were under fire.

The Ukrainian army used 152 mm artillery systems, as well as 82 mm mortars, infantry fighting vehicle weapons, man-portable anti-tank systems, automatic grenade launchers, shoulder-fired anti-tank weapon systems, and small arms of various types.

Notwithstanding the present truce, the Ukrainian army has daily been shelling the territory of the Lugansk People’s Republic. For example, on October 25 the LPR People’s Militia spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Andrei Marochko reported that the Ukrainian army used 120-mm mortar shells, which are forbidden by the Minsk Agreements.
