The airstrike of US-led Western coalition jets against Syrian city of Raqqa led to deaths of 17 children and women, SANA informs on the 17th of August.

Military representatives of Western coalition did not comment on information about Raqqa’s civilian inhabitants’ casualties as the result of the airstrike carried out on Wednesday, the 16th of August.

Non-governmental organizations’ representatives claimed earlier many times that US Department of Defense aims to hide real numbers of casualties among the civilian population of Syria and Iraq since the beginning of antiterrorist operation against ISIL (organization banned in Russia) militants.

In June 2017 Pentagon claimed that 484 civilians died due to Western coalition airstrikes in Syria and Iraq since 2014. Statistical data of independent organization Air Wars show that Western coalition killed no less than 1 782 civilians in March 2017 only.

Military Times agency claimed earlier that Pentagon is concealing data about the number of airstrikes in the Middle East and Central Asia. According to Military Times only for the year of 2016 the information on 456 combat helicopters’ and USA unmanned aerial vehicles’ airstrikes in Afghanistan was not specified.
