Syria should be divided into parts for the sake of peaceful settlement, claimed war observers Denis Dragovic and Richard Iron yesterday, on June 25, in their article in the National Interest magazine.

Police forced to use gas to disperse protesters in Melbourne

Polish Sejm votes to demolish memorials for Red Army soldiers

The amendments to the country’s de-communization law say that monuments and other similar sites “cannot pay tribute to persons, organizations, events or dates symbolizing communism or other totalitarian systems” because it “negatively affects the society.” The law takes effect three months after its passage. Monuments that fall under the category of “glorifying totalitarianism” are to be demolished within 12 months. Memorials at cemeteries and other burial places, as well as monuments included in the registry of architectural monuments will not be demolished. Experts say there are around 250 of them are dedicated to the Red Army.

The Red Army lost about 477 thousand soldiers during the liberation of Poland from Nazi Germany. Nearly 6 million Polish citizens, or 1/5 of the country’s total population, died during the Nazi occupation.

DPR: Ukrainian army redeploys military hardware and heavy artillery to the contact line

The Ukrainian army continues to redeploy heavy artillery and military hardware banned by the Minsk Agreements to the contact line. DPR PM intelligence uncovered the location of 2 batteries of Akatsiya self-propelled howitzers near Zarya. The military personnel and heavy weaponry including Grad multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) were redeployed to the village of Vladimirovka by railway. 3 trains with ammunition for heavy artillery, for tanks, and for the MLRS were noted in Volnovakha. It was reported that a tank column consisting of 2 tanks companies has been moving through the village of Vozdizhenka in the direction of Avdeevka. The Kharkov territorial battalion arrived in Avdeevka. There was information on the arrival of around 50 foreign instructors supposedly from the USA and Canada in the area of Konstantinovka. The main task of the instructors is to train the Ukrainian army’s soldiers of conducting the offensive according to the NATO’s standards.
