On Sunday Kiev violated the ceasefire ten times in Lugansk People's Republic

The  Ukrainian army shelled the Lugansk People’s Republic (the LPR) more than ten times during the past Sunday, the press service of the LPR Defense Ministry informed on Monday, June 19, RIA Novosti reports.

The civilian areas of Veselaya Gora, Zhelobok, Kalinovo, Oboznoye, Frunze were subjected to shelling with mortars, grenade launchers, artillery and small arms fire. A total of about 190 shells were hit the territory of the Republic.

“Over the course of that day, Ukrainian militants violated the ceasefire 10 times by using 122mm artillery, 120mm and 82mm mortars and grenade launchers, infantry fighting vehicles and firing small arms”, the Lugansk Defense Ministry clarified.

On June 18, Andrey Marochko, the official representative of the Lugansk Defense Ministry, stated that the Ukrainian militants used unmanned aerial vehicles in some towns and villages on the territory of the Republic. Marochko noted that the Ukrainian army uses drones for conducting reconnaissance and adjusting the artillery fire. The officer also added that such actions by the Ukrainian army violate the Minsk Agreements.

The Minsk II Agreements was aimed at resolving the conflict in Donbass. The package of measures was negotiated and agreed upon by France, Germany, Russia, and Ukraine. In February 2015, the document was co-signed by the representatives of Ukraine, Russia, the OSCE, the Donetsk People’s Republic, and the Lugansk People’s Republic. The agreement stipulates a full ceasefire on the territory of Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and the withdrawal of all heavy weapons in order to create a stable security zone.
