LPR: Kiev opened fire at the territory of Republic 27 times on June 8

Ukrainian military opened fire at the territory of Lugansk People’s Republic 27 times during the day, stated the LPR People’s Militia spokesman on June 8, Interfax reports.

“The Ukrainian military violated the ceasefire 27 times during the day, having fired 152mm and 122mm artillery, 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers, an infantry fighting vehicle, ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns, and small arms”, stated the LPR military spokesman.

11 communities of the LPR were fired at by Ukrainian army. Four LPR People’s Militia servicemen and one civilian were wounded as a result of the shelling.  Several houses were destroyed in the town of Kirovsk.

The Ukrainian military claimed 71 shelling from the LPR side, as a result of which two Ukrainian soldiers were killed and eleven were wounded.

The previous escalation of the situation at the demarcation line between LPR and Ukraine happened in the village of Zhelobok on June 7. Ukrainian soldiers attempted to capture the neutral zone near Zhelobok and shelled a number of the LPR villages. The Ukrainian attack was repelled by the LPR People`s Militia. Both sides stated about killed and wounded as the result of the military clash.
