Ukrainian army are pulling heavy and rocket artillery up

The situation at the contact line remains tense; the Ukrainian army is pulling heavy and rocket artillery up to the front line, a source in the Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia (DPR PM) informed a Rossa Primavera News Agency reporter on March 8th.

At the Gorlovka part of the front, the Ukrainian military opened fire on the northern and south-western suburbs of the city, as well as the village of Golmovsky with mortars and guns of infantry fighting vehicles (IFV).

On the Donetsk direction, the Ukrainian army shelled the area of the “Yasinovataya” checkpoint and the positions of DPR People’s Militia in the area of “Volvo-Center”. Moreover, the village of Staromikhailovka in the west of Donetsk came under Ukrainian army’s fire.

Multiple story building was damaged in Dokuchaevsk as a result of the Ukrainian army’s shelling. In the village of Yasnoye, the boiler station was damaged and left without electric power.

On the Mariupol direction, the villages of Kominternovo and Sakhanka came under Ukrainian military’s fire.

DPR PM intelligence uncovered the location of a battery of BM-21 “Grad” multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) of the 54th Independent Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian army near the village of Mironovka. There is information that the 122nd Independent Air Mobile Battalion, being the operational reserves of the 81st Independent Air Mobile Brigade, is stationed near the village of Nikonorovka. The Independent Battalion is reinforced with a battery of BM-21 “Grad” MLRS, tank company, and motorized infantry company equipped with IFVs.

During the past day, 16 communities of the Donetsk People’s Republic came under Ukrainian artillery fire. Ukrainian military fired 81 heavy artillery shells, 407 mortar rounds of various calibers, and 12 tank shells. The enemy also utilized IFV, armoured personnel carriers, anti-aircraft guns, and small arms.
