Trench combat is underway along all parts of the front; the Ukrainian army continues to conduct heavy shelling of the territory of Donetsk People’s Republic, a source in the DPR People’s Militia (DPR PM) informed a Rossa Primavera News Agency reporter on March 1st.
The situation remains tense on the Gorlovka and Donetsk directions. Trench combat is underway in the area of the villages of Zaytsevo, Golmovsky, Shirokaya Balka, of the “Gagarin” coal mine not far from Gorlovka, as well as in the area of Avdeevka industrial zone and the village of Trudovskiye near Donetsk.
In the morning, the town of Yasinovataya was heavily shelled by the Ukrainian army. South of Donetsk, the suburbs of Dokuchaevsk and the village of Styla came under the Ukrainian artillery fire. 120mm mortars were used.
On the Mariupol direction, Ukrainian military opened fire on the village of Leninskoye with 82mm mortars. There is no information on the victims among the civilians.
According to DPR PM Command, during the past, one DPR PM serviceman was killed, and another one was injured.
According to updated information, during the past day, February 28th, the Ukrainian army shelled the DPR territory 1,774. Ukrainian military fired 112 tank shells, 533 120mm and 82mm mortar rounds at the DPR villages and towns along the Gorlovka, Donetsk, and Mariupol directions. Moreover, infantry fighting vehicles, anti-aircraft guns, grenade launchers of various kinds, and small arms were used.
