Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) are increasing the number of high-caliber military hardware and artillery along the contact line that indicates the preparation for offensive attacks, a source in the Donetsk People’s Republic People’s Militia (DPR PM) informed a Rossa Primavera News Agency reporter on February 17th.
The situation at the Gorlovka part of the front remains highly tense. The Ukrainian army has shelled the village of Ozeryanovka today.
Ukrainian military shelled a number of the DPR villages and towns near Donetsk: the villages of Zhabichevo, Spartak, and Yakovlevka, the suburbs of Yasinovataya. One house was damaged in Yasinovataya. Trench combat of high intensity is underway in the area of “Volvo-Center”, Avdeevka industrial zone, the villages of Krasny Partizan and Vasilevka, as well as in the area of the village of Trudovskiye in the west of Donetsk. The Ukrainian army is utilizing “Grad” multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), 152mm heavy artillery, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and small arms.
During the past week, 18 houses in the villages of Krutaya Balka and Staromikhailovka, as well as in the Kuybushevsky and Petrovksy districts of Donetsk were damaged as a result of the Ukrainian army’s shelling.
DPR intelligence informed on the high number of the heavy military hardware and artillery of the Ukrainian army in the vicinity of the contact line that is a gross violation of the Minsk agreements. During the past week, there were reports on the location of the following military hardware and artillery: 2 tank platoons, up to a battery of 122mm “Gvozdika” self-propelled artillery, up to a battery of “Grad” MLRS on the Gorlovka direction, a battalion of 122mm “Gvozdika” self-propelled artillery, one 203mm “Pion” howitzers squad, up to a battery of 152mm “Giatsint-B” howitzers, a battery of “Grad” MLRS, 2 tank platoons on the Donetsk direction, one tank platoon, 2 batteries of 120mm mortars, up to a battery of “Gvozdika” self-propelled artillery, a battery of “Grad” MLRS.
During the past day, February 16th, Ukrainian military shelled the front-line territory of DPR 1,373 times. The Ukrainian army fired 56 152mm and 122mm artillery shells, 20 tank shells, 484 120mm and 82mm mortar rounds. Infantry fighting vehicles, anti-aircraft guns, grenade launcher, and small arms were also used.
