Ukrainian military decreased the intensity of the shelling of the territory of Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). However, the Ukrainian army continues to increase its forces on the Donetsk and Gorlovka directions.
At the Gorlovka part of the front, the Ukrainian army shelled the northern and western suburbs of the city, including the village of Zaytsevo with mortars, grenade launchers, and small arms. Ukrainian aerial recon drones are highly active.
On the Donetsk direction, Ukrainian military shelled the position of DPR People’s Militia (DPR PM) in the area of the “Yasinovataya” checkpoint. In the evening, trench combat at this part of the front has intensified.
On the Mariupol direction, the village of Sakhanka was shelled with 82mm mortars. There is no information about destructions and victims.
According to DPR PM Command, 8 servicemen of the Republic were killed as a result of the shelling, and 3 soldiers were wounded during the past week.
DPR PM intelligence uncovered a large number of the Ukrainian military hardware and artillery, banned by the Minsk Agreement, near the contact line. During the past week, 2 platoons of self-propelled artillery vehicles (SAV) and a platoon of 120mm mortars on the Gorlovka direction, a tank company, a battery of 120mm mortars, and 2 platoons of “Grad” multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) on the Donetsk direction, and a platoon of SAVs on the Mariupol direction were registered.
During the past day, February 9th, the Ukrainian army shelled 96 times. The weapons of infantry fighting vehicle was used 2 times, the anti-aircraft guns and small arms were used once, automatic grenade launchers and rocket-propelled grenade launchers were utilized 87 and 5 times respectively.
