Ukrainian APC "found" a Ukrainian mine

An armored personnel carrier (APC) of the Ukrainian army exploded on a mine placed by the Ukrainian military, according to the Deputy Operations Commander of Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Eduard Basurin, Donetsk News Agency informed on May 29th.

APC of the 3rd motorized infantry battalion of the 72nd motorized infantry brigade exploded on a Ukrainian mine placed to the south of Donetsk in the area of Starognatovka village. Three soldiers were killed on the spot, and another five were injured and hospitalized.

In recent days the news about non-combat casualties of Ukrainian military are appearing more often. Yesterday the information about the armed conflict between the militants of the ‘Aydar’ nationalist battalion and servicemen of the 72nd independent motorized brigade became public. At least 10 people, including the commander of a battalion of 72nd brigade, lieutenant-colonel Zhuk, were killed in the clash.

Moreover, in the previous week, 16 servicemen of the Ukrainian army were killed, and another 9 were wounded by ‘friendly fire’ on the part of the neighboring Ukrainian units.
